Pool Acid Wash Service
At Finn’s Pool Services we know that an “acid wash” is a deep cleaning process that is used to remove tough stains, mineral buildup, and other contaminants from the surface of a pool. This process is also known as “drain and clean” or “chemical wash.”
It is an effective solution for restoring the appearance and functionality of your pool, especially when other cleaning methods have not worked. All processes are conducted in accordance with Florida State’s Public swimming pools’ public health guidelines.
ACID WASH BENEFITS
Removes Tough Stains
Over time, your pool may develop tough stains that are difficult to remove with regular cleaning methods. Acid wash effectively removes these stains, restoring the look of your pool.
Removes Calcium & Mineral Buildup
Calcium and mineral buildup can cause stains and damage to your pool’s surface. Acid wash removes this buildup, leaving your pool looking clean and healthy. Learn more about the impact of calcium in our article about the effects of high and low calcium hardness in your pool.
Reduces Algae Growth
The algae growth can lead to unhealthy conditions in your pool. Acid wash helps to kill and remove algae, reducing the likelihood of future growth. For a more comprehensive understanding of how to prevent and deal with algae, you can read our guide on algae prevention and removal in your pool.
Increases the Life of Your Pool
By removing tough stains, algae growth, and mineral buildup, the acid wash helps to increase the lifespan of your pool and its components.
The Acid Wash Process
1. Draining the Pool
The first step in the acid wash process is to drain the pool completely so the entire surface is exposed and ready to be cleaned.
2. Applying the Acid Solution
Next, an acid solution is carefully applied to the pool surface to break down stubborn stains, mineral buildup, and algae.
3. Agitation and Rinsing
The solution is worked across the affected areas using specialized tools, then thoroughly rinsed away to remove loosened contaminants.
4. Neutralizing the Surface
After rinsing, the pool surface is neutralized to restore proper pH conditions and protect the pool surface and equipment.
5. Refilling the Pool
The pool is then refilled with fresh water and brought back to the proper level so it can be balanced and returned to service.
6. Professional Technicians
Our technicians are trained in the acid wash process and use the proper tools and techniques to safely restore the appearance of your pool.
